How well does your business actually get found?
Your website may look beautiful. But does it also show up for the questions customers ask Google, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot?
Three things play the leading role here: what you say · how your site is built · who trusts you.
See how that works ↓Try these for your business
Where do you rank when someone searches for your most important service?
Does ChatGPT mention your business when someone asks for a recommendation?
Why does that one competitor keep showing up?
Does a visitor understand within five seconds why they need you?
Four simple questions. The answers are determined by dozens of things under the hood.
Google searches. AI answers. Your customer decides.
Search engines show a long list, AIs mention just a handful of businesses, and after that your visitor decides.

Where could things be going wrong for you?
Everything that goes by the name visibility falls under three levers. The question is which one delivers the most for you.
Not just what you do: also prices, options, locations, differences and reasons to choose you.
What this covers
- keywords and search queries
- landing pages
- headings and meta titles
- FAQ with schema
- question-and-answer content
A beautiful site can be slow or unclear under the hood. Then everyone drops off: bot, AI and visitor alike.
What this covers
- speed and Core Web Vitals
- indexing and sitemap
- robots.txt and AI bots
- structured data
- llms.txt and internal links
Who mentions you, who links to you, are your details correct everywhere, and how strong are your competitors?
What this covers
- backlinks and referring domains
- Google Business Profile
- reviews and mentions
- consistent business details
- competitor measurements
And this is where it gets interesting
Can your website give that answer?
An AI can only use information about your business that can actually be found somewhere. And customers rarely ask for “the best”; they ask:
- Do you have parking?
- Do you work throughout the Netherlands?
- Can you start within two weeks?
- Do you have experience in my industry?
- Roughly what does it cost?
- Can I bring my dog, is there a gluten-free option?
If the answer is not on your site, no model can mention you for that question. The good news: hardly anyone puts this on their site. If you are the only one giving the answer, you are the only one who can be mentioned.
Test it yourself
Think of three questions your customer would ask an AI. For example:
- “Which [service] suits a company with twenty employees?”
- “Which [provider] in [city] has experience with …?”
- “What is the difference between company A and company B?”
Not sure whether you appear in the answer? That is exactly what I measure.

Put simply: from two worlds. What a model learned during its training, and current information it looks up while answering. Only that second part is something you can actively steer.
1. What the model has learned. Trained on huge amounts of information, up to a certain point in time. New information on your site does not end up in there by itself; the model has to look it up.
2. What they look up while answering. This part you can influence. And take note: every AI searches differently:
| AI | Searches via | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Its own search technology plus external search providers, including Bing | Be accessible to search engines and to OpenAI’s own crawler |
| Copilot | Bing | Comes standard with Windows and Office, so many business users |
| Gemini and AI Overviews | Google Search systems | A strong Google foundation helps here too, but a high ranking is no guarantee of a mention |
| Perplexity | Its own search index and crawlers, plus other sources | Cites sources by name with a link, so you see in black and white whether you are listed |
Bing is often forgotten, and that is a shame. Copilot uses Bing for its searches, and ChatGPT can retrieve information via Bing too. That is why I deliberately include Bing in the 360° measurement, alongside Google and the AI platforms themselves. Not a ChatGPT dashboard, but a valuable extra measurement window.
It also counts beyond your own site: reviews, trade media and forums such as Reddit carry weight, differing per topic and platform. That is the authority lever.
For AI Overviews and AI Mode there are no separate technical requirements: your page must be indexed and be allowed to appear in the regular search results with a snippet. Nothing more.
Refreshingly honest news: good SEO is the gateway to AI visibility, not a separate discipline. See AI features and your website.
Exactly how the weighting works is something every platform keeps secret. Third-party research gives clues, for example that AI citations mostly come from the top of the regular search results. Those are samples, not laws. I present such figures as an indication, never as certainty, and prefer to measure it for your business myself.
And there is no such thing as one AI ranking. Highly visible in Google does not automatically mean visible in ChatGPT, and ChatGPT says nothing about Gemini or Perplexity. That is why I measure them one by one. This field also changes every quarter; what you are reading here is the state of play in August 2026.
So do you need to rebuild your entire website now?
Probably not. And that is exactly why I measure first. Maybe your technical side is excellent and it is mainly content that is missing. Maybe your content is strong, but your authority is thin. Or you may already be doing surprisingly well and a few targeted fixes are enough.
What I do not do: promise rankings. Nobody can, because Google and the AIs keep their inner workings secret. What I do: measure, improve, and measure again after three months.
“Your website is bad, buy SEO” is something you will never hear me say. My answer is: no idea, measure first.
That is why I take a 360-degree view
Not one magic score, but concrete figures per axis, with a report grade you can pass on to anyone.
And no, you do not have to become an SEO specialist for this
You just want to know: what is in good shape, what am I missing out on, what would you tackle, and what does it cost? That is where I come in.
I measure → you get choices → I execute if you want → after three months I measure again.
